Welcome to Our New Clinical Faculty!

We are excited and honored you have become a part of our Mount Sinai Health System team. The Health System  includes the Icahn School of Medicine at Mount Sinai, an international leader in medical and scientific training, biomedical research, and patient care. Combining the highest standards of scholarly inquiry, collaboration, and social concern with a passion for innovation and entrepreneurial thinking, the school encourages discovery and creativity that will lead to novel insights and advances in the diagnosis, treatment, and prevention of disease. 

Mount Sinai Doctors Faculty Practice is a multispecialty group composed of more than 2,000 highly skilled physicians who have extensive experience. Our physicians and staff work together at our hospitals and ambulatory practices to ensure quality care and speedy recovery for patients with various medical conditions.

This website lays out all of the tasks you must accomplish and resources you will need to understand and leverage as:

  • Faculty at the Icahn School of Medicine at Mount Sinai

How to use this guide:

  • We have laid out tasks and information chronologically.
  • Keep in mind that this guide is meant to be universally applicable to all clinical faculty. Speak to your department administrators for tasks that are specific to your specialty, department, and local practice.

Before your first day with us, there are several items you will need to complete, mostly as a part of the hospital privileging process and general human resources matters.

Training System

PEAK

This is our Learning Management System, where you can access any trainings that you are required to complete, throughout your employment. You might already be familiar with this system in order to complete trainings that are a part of your Delineation of Privileges.

 

All Systems Access

 

You will use your network ID or your Mount Sinai email address to access all IT systems at the Health System. You will also use the same password across platforms, which should never be shared with anyone. All faculty must use their MSHS email account.

  • Obtain your network logon and temporary password from your department administrator.
  • Don’t forget to change your temporary password to one only you will know!

Compliance Training

 

All clinical faculty must attend this training.

  • Speak to your department administrator, who will sign you up for this session. (If not, you may sign up here.)

Contact Information and Payroll

Sinai Cloud

Sinai Cloud is where many human resources functions are housed, including payroll, benefits selection, vacation/personal days, and much more.

  • Complete your W-4 and Direct Deposit* forms.
  • Review your contact information
  • Input your emergency contact information

Understand Your Benefits

Sinai Cloud

There are a variety of ways you can get more information about your benefits.  You will make your benefits selection in Sinai Cloud once you start.

  • Detailed information and contact lists can be found on our HR intranet* site.
  • HR also offers a weekly information session on Mondays at 3:30pm.  Information can be found here.

PEAK

Let us formally welcome you to Mount Sinai! In this session, you will receive a general overview of the Mount Sinai Health System and meet several leaders and fellow new hires.

Benefits

Sinai Cloud

Benefits must be selected within 30 days of your start date.

  • Select Your Benefits in Sinai Cloud.

Compliance Training

 

This training is required for all faculty and must be completed within 30 days of your start date.

Epic Training

Epic

Work on your Epic training. Once you have completed all modules, let your administrator know so that your full access can be authorized.

FIT Test

 

As with most hazards, personal protective equipment (PPE) should be the last line of defense against hazards. It is essential that all clinicians are following Occupational Safety Health Administration requirements for fit testing on N95 Respirators.

Commitment 2 Caring (C2C)

 

Commitment to Caring for Our Patients, Colleagues, and Ourselves (C2C) is an initiative designed to guide and shape Mount Sinai Doctors’ culture and practice. Itis driven by four service standards: safety, compassion, teamwork, and excellence and aims to foster an environment where team members are performing at their best, are engaged with their work, and put the patient at the center of all they do.

The Commitment to Caring Relationship-Centered Provider Communication Program is designed to improve patient experience, employee engagement, and provider well-being. Available to all clinical faculty interested in learning about best practices for improving communication with patients, the program aims to enhance the patient experience by supporting providers with communication training and improve provider wellness by giving them tools to have higher quality, effective interactions with patients.

Patient Experience
