Clinical Rotations

PGY-1

  • Two months of plastic surgery: one at The Mount Sinai Hospital and one at Elmhurst (Level 1 Trauma Center)
  • One month each of dermatology, anesthesia, orthopedics, neurosurgery, urology, vascular surgery
  • Four months of general surgery

PGY-2

  • Six months of plastic surgery: four at The Mount Sinai Hospital and two at Elmhurst
  • Two months of ear, nose, and throat (ENT)
  • Two months of surgical oncology
  • Two months of surgical ICU care

PGY-3

  • Nine months of plastic surgery: six months as chief resident at the Bronx VA, and three months as senior resident at Westchester Medical Center
  • One month of ENT
  • One month of oral surgery
  • One month of thoracic surgery

PGY-4

  • Three months of plastic surgery at The Mount Sinai Hospital
  • Three months of plastic surgery at Elmhurst
  • Three months of plastic surgery at Mount Sinai Morningside/Mount Sinai West
  • Three months of plastic and burn surgery at Westchester Medical Center (Level 1 Trauma Center)

PGY-5

  • Six months of plastic surgery at Mount Sinai Beth Israel, with focus on breast, microsurgery, and transgender surgery
  • Three months of plastic surgery at The Mount Sinai Hospital
  • Three months of plastic surgery at Mount Sinai Morningside/Mount Sinai West

PGY-6

  • Six months as chief resident at The Mount Sinai Hospital, including running the plastic surgery resident clinic, with one full OR day per week allotted to resident-run cases
  • Six months as chief resident at Elmhurst (Level 1 Trauma Center), including running both the plastic surgery and hand clinics
