Mount Sinai Fuster Heart Hospital

As one of the largest and most celebrated cardiology programs in the world, the Mount Sinai Fuster Heart Hospital at the Icahn School of Medicine at Mount Sinai attracts pioneers at the cutting edge of all cardiology subspecialties. Renowned alumni such as Eugene Braunwald, MD, author of the seminal textbook Braunwald's Heart Disease, and world-famous cardiologists including Richard Gorlin, MD, creator of the Gorlin formula, have spent a portion of their illustrious careers within our preeminent division. Our legacy of research, clinical care, and education continues today under the leadership of Director Deepak L. Bhatt, MD, MPH, MBA. The former director, Valentin Fuster, MD, PhD, now serves as the President of Mount Sinai Fuster Heart Hospital and Physician-in-Chief at The Mount Sinai Hospital.

Our team of 200 cardiologists, 130 fellows, 107 nurse practitioners, and 1,037 nurses work collaboratively to prevent, manage, and eradicate cardiovascular diseases. Mount Sinai Fuster Heart Hospital handles a high volume of patients and procedures annually, including 200,000 outpatient visits, 105,000 diagnostic tests, 23,200 cath lab procedures, and 7,700 electrophysiology lab procedures. This vast clinical exposure allows our cardiologists and trainees to encounter a wide breadth of cardiology subspecialties and complex cases. It also enables us to remain at the forefront of innovative prevention and treatment approaches.
