Internal Medicine Residency Program

The PGY-2 Internal Medicine Pharmacy Residency program at Mount Sinai Morningside and Mount Sinai West is a 12-month, ASHP Candidate Status, full-time training experience designed to develop the resident into a proficient internal medicine practitioner through a challenging and highly gratifying clinical and academic experience. This program encompasses a comprehensive year that allows the resident to develop clinical knowledge as well as leadership, research, presentation, literature evaluation, and critical thinking skills necessary for a successful internal medicine pharmacy career. After completing the PGY-2 internal medicine residency, the individual would be prepared to work as a clinician for patient care positions; qualified for a faculty appointment in a college of pharmacy; and/or prepared to pursue board certification in Pharmacotherapy.

Longitudinal responsibilities may include:

  • Medication use evaluation
  • Research project 
  • PGY1/Student Precepting
  • Multidisciplinary Teaching

Compensation

Mount Sinai Morningside and Mount Sinai West offer residents a highly competitive compensation package. The compensation package includes medical, prescription, dental, and vision insurance. Residents will receive paid time off for conferences, vacation, holidays, and sick time. Residents will also be reimbursed for fees to professional organizations based on yearly travel budgets.
