Diseases that affect the brain or other parts of the nervous system are among the most disabling and economically catastrophic medical disorders globally. The mission of the Alper Center for Neural Development and Regeneration is to transform human health through a deep understanding of neural development and disease that allows us to identify new preventative and therapeutic strategies.
To achieve this goal, we bring together experts from various scientific and medical fields, such as genomics, bioengineering, stem cell biology, developmental biology, and neuroscience, serving as a hub for interaction and collaboration. The Center supports targeted recruitment of talented researchers who are studying neural development and regeneration, hosts seminars with leading international experts in the field, and co-organizes the Neurodevelopment & Disease work-in-progress talks with the Friedman Brain Institute. Our programs are open to research and clinical faculty, trainees, and staff across the Health System and are designed to be engaging and thought-provoking for researchers and medical professionals. We hope to foster new collaborations and support innovative pilot studies.
We would like to extend an invitation for you to join us on this thrilling adventure of exploration, which could have a significant impact on human health and provide better treatments for numerous devastating diseases. We encourage you to join us in this important work and contribute to the advancement of our understanding of neural development and disease.
