The Department of Microbiology at the Icahn School of Medicine at Mount Sinai represents a nexus of viral research excellence. Within our multidisciplinary labs, we are rapidly advancing our understanding of infectious diseases, while also educating the next generation of leading microbiology investigators. Our research areas span domains such as vaccine studies, viral pathogenesis, adaptive and innate immunity, and therapeutics, and we are actively expanding our focus on emerging viral challenges related to climate change.
