Message From the Chair

The health of women is the cornerstone of thriving families, communities, and societies. As Chair of the Raquel and Jaime Gilinski Department of Obstetrics, Gynecology and Reproductive Science at Mount Sinai, I am proud to lead a team that recognizes this fundamental truth and works tirelessly to advance women's health across all stages of life. Our mission is to provide compassionate, inclusive, and evidence-based care while pushing the boundaries of medical knowledge through innovative research and education.

Our department's strength lies in its exceptional faculty, who consistently deliver outstanding care. We are committed to fostering a culture of collaboration, as exemplified by our interdisciplinary working groups and the newly launched Golden Uterus Award, which celebrates teamwork across specialties.

Research is a cornerstone of our department. Our involvement in the Perinatal Research Consortium, the New York City Maternal Fetal Medicine Research Consortium, and the Blavatnik Family Women’s Health Research Institute further demonstrates our commitment to advancing knowledge in women's health.

Education is paramount to our mission. We offer comprehensive training programs, including a highly regarded residency and seven fellowship programs across multiple Mount Sinai locations. These programs, along with our global health initiatives, prepare the next generation of leaders in obstetrics and gynecology.

Looking to the future, we are expanding our reach through telehealth and exploring the potential of AI in patient care, always with a focus on equitable healthcare for underserved communities. As we move forward, we remain inspired by Mount Sinai's history of inclusive care and our ongoing commitment to reimagining women's health. I invite you to join in this exciting journey of innovation, compassion, and excellence in women's healthcare.
