It is an honor so serve in the Division of Pediatric Emergency Medicine. Our mission, as it has always been, is to deliver the highest quality of care in the most efficient way to our pediatric patients. The growth of the Mount Sinai Health System has created opportunities for us to innovate in areas of acute pediatric care, improving the experience and outcomes of children in Emergency Departments.
Our diverse and dedicated faculty serve children and their families throughout the Health System in many capacities. Clinically faculty treat children at one of the three Pediatric Emergency Departments, the Pediatric Short Stay Unit, and through our telemedicine support network spanning the entire Health System. Academically, our faculty trains future physicians and caregivers across the full spectrum of educational settings, and are leaders in research efforts aimed at improving the care of children with acute illnesses and injuries.
After completing their training in the leading children's centers across the country, our accomplished faculty excels areas such as simulation, medical education, point of care ultrasound, and alternatives to inpatient hospitalization. We provide care to children and families through a team-based approach including physicians, nurses, child-life specialists, and other professionals. We are focused on providing care that is family-centered, evidence-based, coordinated across various platforms across our Health System, and rely on continuous quality improvement strategies.
