Joanna Au, PharmD

Dr. Au is originally from South Jersey and earned her PharmD degree at Rutgers University. She completed a PGY-1 pharmacy residency at North Shore University Hospital in Long Island and obtained her teaching certificate at St. John's University. Her areas of interest include cardiology, endocrinology, and solid organ transplantation.

Leanna Narain, PharmD
Dr. Narain is from Queens, New York and received her Doctor of Pharmacy degree in 2020 from Arnold & Marie Schwartz College of Pharmacy at Long Island University Brooklyn. She completed her PGY1 residency and obtained her teaching certificate at The Brooklyn Hospital Center in Brooklyn, NY. Her areas of interest include transitions of care and chronic disease management, with a focus in diabetes, and population health.

You Jin (Ella) Chang, PharmD
Dr. Chang is from Brooklyn, NY and is a 2019 graduate of St. John’s University College of Pharmacy and Health Sciences. She completed her PGY1 Pharmacy Residency at Northport Veterans Affairs Medical Center in Northport, NY and obtained her teaching certificate at St. John’s University College of Pharmacy and Health Sciences. Her areas of interest include ambulatory care focused in population health.

Sara McDougal, PharmD
Dr. McDougal is from Long Island, New York and received her Doctor of Pharmacy degree in 2019 from St. John’s University College of Pharmacy and Health Sciences. She obtained her teaching certificate at her alma mater while completing her PGY1 Pharmacy Residency at Mount Sinai South Nassau in Oceanside, NY. Her areas of interest include chronic disease management, with a focus in diabetes and heart failure. She is also interested in population health and public health, and hopes to pursue a Masters of Public Health degree in the future.

Cerris Chung, PharmD
Dr. Chung is from Brooklyn, NY. She graduated from St. John’s University College of Pharmacy and Health Sciences and completed her PGY1 Pharmacy Residency at Kingsbrook Jewish Medical Center in Brooklyn, NY. She obtained her teaching certificate at Touro College of Pharmacy. Her areas of interest include diabetes management and cardiology.

Martina Selwaness, PharmD
Dr. Selwaness is from East Brunswick, NJ. She graduated from Albany College of Pharmacy and Health Sciences and completed her PGY1 Pharmacy Residency at Northwell Health-Southside Hospital in Bayshore, NY. She obtained her teaching certificate at St. John’s University College of Pharmacy and Health Sciences. Her areas of interest include ambulatory care and chronic disease management with a focus on diabetes. She is also interested in working with underserved populations.

Research Project/Poster (11th Annual Icahn School of Medicine at Mount Sinai GME Consortium Research Day): Assessing the Impact of a Pharmacist-led Medication Assessment and Polypharmacy Evaluation in the Primary Care Setting

During their PGY2, Drs. Chung and Selwaness created/expanded clinical pharmacy services at multiple primary care clinics, initiated ambulatory care pharmacist workflows at EHHOP (Mount Sinai’s student-run free clinic), and helped develop escalation pathways from our care management team to pharmacists. Through their combined efforts, Drs. Chung and Selwaness were able to generate revenue for their primary care practices by completing over 150 Medicare Annual Wellness Visits. Their work was instrumental to the MSHP pharmacy team’s ability to create additional revenue-generating pharmacy services for Chronic Care Management and Remote Patient Monitoring in 2020.
