Mount Sinai has won a 2025 Ehealthcare Leadership Silver Award in the category of "Best Use of Artificial Intelligence in Healthcare Marketing" for the creation of AI at Mount Sinai, its centralized digital hub. Designed to engage patients, students, researchers, and employees, the platform serves as a gateway to one of the nation's most innovative medical AI ecosystems.

As the digital face of the Windreich Department of Artificial Intelligence and Human Health, the site communicates the department's mission to advance ethical AI through collaboration and transparency. By bringing together clinical applications, research initiatives, education programs, and governance models, it successfully bridges disciplines and democratizes access to Mount Sinai’s approach to AI.

Mount Sinai Health System has been honored with the 2024 Hearst Health Prize for its groundbreaking AI application, NutriScan AI. Developed by our Clinical Data Science team, the award recognizes Mount Sinai's innovative NutriScan AI, a machine learning tool that has transformed malnutrition screening and treatment across the Health System.

By seamlessly integrating with electronic health records, NutriScan AI has enabled Mount Sinai to identify malnutrition cases far more effectively than traditional methods. Once a patient is identified as likely to have malnutrition, they are quickly connected to a nutritionist who can confirm a diagnosis and start treatment. NutriScan AI has led to earlier interventions and more targeted nutritional support, enhancing recovery journeys and providing benefits for patients across the Health System. These patient benefits include a reduced risk of complications, shorter hospital stays, and overall improved health outcomes.

Mount Sinai Health System has been ranked No. 1 on the 2024 Nature AI Index list of "Leading 10 Healthcare Institutions." This recognition highlights the Health System's exceptional contributions to AI research in health care from 2019 to 2023. The Nature AI Index also placed Mount Sinai among the world's "Leading 200 Institutions" for AI across all fields, a recognition which further demonstrates Mount Sinai's commitment to advancing AI. These and other efforts have contributed to additional accolades, including The Mount Sinai Hospital and Mount Sinai Morningside being named to Newsweek's 2024 World's Best Smart Hospitals list.
