At the Graduate School of Biomedical Sciences at the Icahn School of Medicine at Mount Sinai (ISMMS), our Physician Scholars program provides our medical doctorates with the skills necessary to succeed as translational researchers. We provide an integration of clinical residency/fellowship education with PhD training to help you become an excellent physician-researcher.
How to Apply
Candidates of this program will need to have already earned an MD degree. Applications to the Physician Scholars program are managed through specific clinical residency and fellowship programs at Mount Sinai with partnerships from the Graduate School of Biomedical Sciences program leaders for career development and to meet PhD academic requirements.
You may select mentorships in specific research laboratories within the clinical or basic science departments in medicine, neurology, pediatrics, and psychiatry. As a student in this Program, you will need to fulfill all requirements for the degree of Doctor of Philosophy as outlined in the Graduate School’s Student’s Handbook.
