The Neurology Residency Program is designed to provide residents with a broad knowledge base in neuroscience, as well as the clinical skills to recognize and treat the full spectrum of neurologic diseases. An exceptional academic environment and the diverse culture of New York City offer unparalleled opportunities. By graduation, each of our residents is grounded in basic neuroscience, has had extensive clinical experience, and becomes a seasoned clinician-scientist, poised to become a professional neurologist of the highest caliber.
Our Mission
The Mount Sinai Hospital Neurology Residency Program strives to provide each resident with an exceptional training experience in an environment that prioritizes wellness, seeks diversity, and celebrates collegiality. First and foremost, we aim to give our residents the skills necessary to provide unparalleled care to every patient that they encounter. With this goal in mind, we are committed to providing close faculty guidance and support, as well as a comprehensive, evidence-based didactic curriculum.
Additionally, we ensure that each resident gets timely and effective feedback so that they may continue to refine and improve their clinical skills. Second, recognizing that we have the opportunity through research to advance the field and to improve the lives of patients, we expect that every resident will participate in some form of research during their training.
We work to help them find the right mentor and project, so that the experience is personally fulfilling. Finally, we seek to cultivate an enduring love of neurology in our residents that inspires them to educate trainees, patients, and colleagues.
