Advanced Cardiac Imaging Fellowship at The Mount Sinai Hospital

The Advanced Cardiac Imaging Fellowship at The Mount Sinai Hospital offers a one-year training program for cardiologists seeking specialized expertise in cardiovascular imaging. This non-ACGME accredited fellowship provides Level III training per the Core Cardiovascular Training Statement (COCATS) in both cardiac computed tomography (CT) and magnetic resonance imaging (MRI). During their time within the Icahn School of Medicine at Mount Sinai, our fellows are supported by a collaborative faculty of cardiologists and radiologists, who also encourage them to engage in research opportunities.

Throughout the program, our fellows gain in-depth experience across a wide range of cardiac imaging applications, including detailed assessments of coronary artery disease, structural heart interventions, and peripheral vascular disease. Through computed tomography angiography and magnetic resonance imaging modalities, the program also covers advanced imaging techniques for evaluating cardiomyopathies, infiltrative disorders, inflammatory conditions, cardiac masses, and congenital heart disease.

With a volume of over 7,500 cardiac CT and 2,600 cardiac MRI procedures performed annually at The Mount Sinai Hospital, this program provides substantial hands-on learning opportunities. We also support fellows in contributing to the evolving field of cardiovascular imaging through dedicated research.

How to Apply

The Advanced Cardiac Imaging Fellowship is open to those who have completed an ACGME-accredited general cardiology fellowship. Interested candidates should send their curriculum vitae, cover letter, and two letters of recommendation (one from their cardiology program director) to our Program Director, Gina LaRocca, MD, MHSc.
