The mission of the Institute for Family Health is to improve access to high quality, patient-centered primary health care targeted to the needs of medically underserved communities. In support of its mission, the Institute’s residency programs train family physicians to provide outstanding family medical care in diverse communities.

Harlem Residency in Family Medicine
In collaboration with The Mount Sinai Hospital, the Harlem Residency in Family Medicine is sponsored by the Institute for Family Health and is based in historic East Harlem. The program educates family physicians in the provision of longitudinal, preventive, comprehensive and accessible family-centered care to underserved, medically complex patients.
