We accept 3 fellows annually.

To be considered for our fellowship, you must have completed an ACGME-accredited general psychiatry residency training program, a program with ACGME International (ACGME-I) Advanced Specialty Accreditation, or a Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons of Canada (RCPSC)-accredited adult psychiatry residency program.

We, along with many other CLP fellowship programs, will be accepting applications through ERAS for the first time this cycle.  You can get more information about the ERAS registration process here.

Alternatively, we will also continue to accept either the Mount Sinai application or the ACLP Common Application.

You can Download our application or use the ACLP common application and submit it with the following:

• Your curriculum vitae
• Copy of current medical license
• Three letters of support (one of which must be from the current training director in general psychiatry)
• Medical school transcript and dean’s letter/MSPE
• Test scores (USMLE, COMLEX)
• ECFMG certification (if applicable)
• Personal statement describing your reason for pursuing a career in Consultation-Liaison Psychiatry, your experiences with consultation-liaison psychiatry, and your career goals

Our training director and other members of the Consultation Psychiatry team use a milestones-based format to guide the trainee evaluations. You meet semi-annually with the fellowship director to formally discuss your clinical, academic, administrative, and professional skills and to discuss goals for continued progress in these areas. You and your supervisor both evaluate each clinical rotation and you complete a formal, written evaluation after the end of each rotation of the rotation and the faculty. We also use 360 degree evaluations, through which patients and colleagues assess your work.

You may seek permission to moonlight from the Training Director, so long as it will not interfere with your training responsibilities or hours in any way, and complies with Part 405.4 of the New York State Health Code.

Consultation-Liaison Psychiatry fellows are not required to take any evening or weekend call during the fellowship year.

We give you many opportunities to teach medical colleagues, residents, and medical students throughout your fellowship. You also supervise medical students and psychiatry residents rotating through the service, and provide lectures for the medical surgical teams.
