Cardiology Fellowship at Mount Sinai Morningside and Mount Sinai West

The Cardiology Fellowship Program at Mount Sinai Morningside and Mount Sinai West, part of the Icahn School of Medicine at Mount Sinai, offers unparalleled training in cardiovascular care. Our three-year program is designed to shape the future leaders in cardiovascular medicine, standing out with its state-of-the-art interventional and structural cardiology, the region's most active critical care cardiology program, cutting-edge electrophysiology and heart failure management, advanced cardiac imaging techniques, and extensive ambulatory clinical care experience.

Under the guidance of Sean Pinney, MD, an internationally recognized expert in cardiology and heart failure, our program emphasizes exceptional patient care. We are committed to continuous innovation and growth, ensuring our fellows are at the forefront of cardiovascular medicine. As part of the prestigious Mount Sinai Health System, the Mount Sinai Fuster Heart Hospital is rapidly expanding its capabilities, implementing advanced cardiac rehabilitation programs, and expanding our research initiatives.

With our diverse clinical volume, engaged faculty, and ambitious fellows, you will be immersed in a rich learning environment that fosters excellence and innovation. Fellows work alongside some of the brightest minds in the field, tackle complex cardiovascular challenges, and develop the skills and knowledge needed to lead the next generation of cardiac care.

How to Apply

The Cardiology Fellowship at Mount Sinai Morningside and Mount Sinai West seeks applicants with the dual aspirations of clinical excellence and academic advancement of the field. We recruit 11 fellows per year. Eligibility is according to qualifications set by the Accreditation Council for Graduate Medical Education. We select from among eligible applicants based on candidates’ demonstrated ability, clinical and academic accomplishments, strength of written recommendations, and personal qualities. Qualified applicants are not discriminated against with regard to sex, race, age, religion, color, national origin, disability, or veteran status.

We participate in the National Residency Matching Program (program code: 1413521251). We accept applications through the Electronic Residency Application System (ERAS). Application materials include:

  • Completed ERAS application
  • Three letters of recommendation

We conduct interviews with selected applicants in September and October. Candidates will receive an introduction to our program from our fellowship leadership, interviews by faculty members, and ample time to gain an in-depth understanding of our program from our fellows’ perspective.
