Message from the Directors

Welcome, and thank you for your interest in geriatric psychiatry and our fellowship program at Mount Sinai. We are excited to introduce you to a comprehensive training experience that prepares fellows to assess, diagnose, and provide longitudinal care for geriatric patients with a wide range of psychiatric conditions in diverse clinical settings.

Our program equips trainees with expertise in managing major mental health disorders in older adults, including neurocognitive disorders, anxiety, depression, and psychosis. Fellows have the unique opportunity to learn from internationally recognized leaders in the field, providing exceptional clinical care while cultivating academic interests and collaborating with colleagues across the institution.

We take great pride in working closely with our fellows. Our faculty view it as a privilege to mentor, train, and develop meaningful relationships with our trainees as they progress through the program. Career mentorship, guidance with job searches, and lasting relationships beyond graduation are integral to the identity of our program.

We are committed to fostering a supportive, inclusive, and intellectually stimulating environment that encourages both personal and professional growth. While fellows benefit from mentorship and access to the extensive academic resources available within the Mount Sinai system, our ultimate goal is to train compassionate geriatric psychiatrists with a deep understanding of the mental health needs of older adults. As the aging population continues to grow, we are dedicated to preparing the next generation of clinical and academic leaders in geriatric psychiatry.
