Welcome to the Diagnostic Radiology Residency program at The Mount Sinai Hospital (MSH)!
Thank you for your interest in our residency program. As the chief residents for the 2023-2024 academic year, we are grateful to have the opportunity to represent our co-residents and excited to share insights into our program.
The Mount Sinai Hospital is one of the oldest and largest teaching hospitals in the country. The hospital is a prominent tertiary referral center located in New York City between the Upper East Side and Harlem, serving a diverse local community and a large referral population.
Residents are central to the institution's mission. As a resident in our program, you will develop a longitudinal experience in bread and butter radiology and extensive training in the interpretation of complex cases. Our subspecialized faculty are dedicated to teaching, and many are leaders in their respective fields. Our program director, Kathleen Halton, MD, is a true resident advocate who treats her residents as her top priority. She recognizes that resident education, wellbeing, and happiness are the main components to our department's success.
We receive exceptional training at Mount Sinai, with particular strenghts in cardiac imaging, body MRI, liver medicine, multiple myeloma, and Crohn's disease. Our graduates have historically obtained fellowship positions at top institutions in the nation and successfully pursued careers in acedemic and private practice radiology.
While resident education and professional development are top priorities, we acknowledge the importance of work-life balance and we enjoy everything that New York City has to offer. We consider ourselves friends first and colleagues second. Aside from collaborating in the reading room, residents are always socializing with each other through game nights, happy hours, and department-sponsored events including dinner, sporting events, Broadway shows, and Women in Radiology events - amount many others!
