1. Inclusion
Eric Nestler

Message From Dean Nestler, MD, PhD

Diversity of all kinds – including diversity of opinions and viewpoints – among faculty, trainees, and staff is critical to overall excellence at the Icahn School of Medicine at Mount Sinai. Our campus is located at the intersection of New York City's most and least affluent zip codes, and our patient population is among the most ethnically diverse in the United States. With this foundation, we are committed to – and uniquely positioned for – promoting inclusion in research, clinical care, and education and to drive innovation. Indeed, our groundbreaking discoveries in biomedical science and our clinical innovation stem from the diversity and talent of our world-class research and clinical faculty.

Our institution's inclusion efforts and resources are both broad and detailed with sustained and committed leadership from a cross section of scholars and clinicians.

I am extremely proud to work with such committed and creative individuals. Their efforts, and the others you will read about on this site, are necessary to advancing our mission, demonstrating the breadth of our commitment to everyone at Mount Sinai feeling welcomed and appreciated and having the tools and opportunities to thrive and flourish both personally and professionally.
