Message From the Core Lead

The Faculty Development and Opportunity Core is grounded in this belief: every faculty member at Mount Sinai is unique, and each deserves a clear, supportive pathway to build a career that is not only successful, but sustainable and meaningful. Our work focuses on helping faculty navigate the complexities of academic medicine with intention, clarity, and confidence.

We move beyond one-size-fits-all programming to meet faculty where they are, across career stages, missions, and lived experiences. By aligning mentorship, leadership development, grant support, and promotion resources into transparent pathways, we help faculty understand their options, overcome barriers, and make informed decisions about their professional growth. We believe opportunities should be visible and accessible, not dependent on informal networks or chance.

At its core, this work is about investing in people. We strive to be a trusted place for faculty to turn as they navigate challenges, explore possibilities, and grow as leaders, scholars, educators, and clinicians. By supporting individuals to become their best selves, we strengthen Mount Sinai’s academic community and its long-term mission.
