Research

The Mount Sinai Children’s Brain and Spinal Tumor Center has several leading research laboratories that have pioneered many advances in the understanding of the molecular underpinnings of several types of pediatric brain tumors. These highly collaborative research labs encompass several disciplines including sophisticated genetic mouse brain tumor modeling, neuroimmunology, cancer genetics, cancer proteogenomics, cancer epigenomics, neurometabolism, and novel drug delivery approaches across the blood-brain barrier. The primary mission of our research is to clinically translate our work into novel diagnostic and therapeutic modalities for children afflicted with brain tumors in order to improve outcomes and minimize treatment-related toxicities to enhance their quality of life.
