The Center for Epithelial and Airway Biology and Regeneration (CEABR) brings together scientists working on diverse epithelial tissues, including skin, trachea, lung, oral cavity, breast, liver, stomach, intestine, and esophagus, with the goal of synergizing and accelerating research on common themes related to epithelial development, stem cells, regeneration, and disease.
The Center harnesses the technical knowledge, high-end infrastructure, and computing power available at Mount Sinai to advance research on epithelial organs and will offer pilot grant funding for innovative and collaborative research projects. The CEABR will also provide a formal venue for interactions between basic, translational, and clinical researchers to foster collaborations and promote translation of basic research findings to the clinic.
CEABR programs will include seminars from international leaders working at the forefront of epithelial biology and regeneration research and medicine, and informal work-in-progress talks from members of Mount Sinai’s epithelial research community. Our programs are open to research and clinical faculty, trainees and staff across the Health System, and are designed to be informative and thought-provoking for researchers and medical professionals.
