The Division of Pulmonary, Critical Care and Sleep Medicine at Mount Sinai Beth Israel provides ample opportunities for clinical, epidemiological, quality improvement and medical education research. Our faculty are engaged in a broad-range of investigations, including pulmonary vascular disease, venous thromboembolism, cystic fibrosis, pleural disease and asthma. In critical care, our faculty are investigating severe sepsis, diaphragm function in ventilator weaning, the association of resource utilization with clinical outcomes, point-of-care ultrasound training, and simulation-based teaching.
