Amplifying Equity Series
Since 2021, the Amplifying Equity Speaker Series has featured esteemed colleagues presenting on topics such as representation in biomedical research; the history of women in science and medicine; and mentorship, sponsorship, and allyship.

Just Desserts
Just Desserts are monthly gatherings to enable our community to celebrate and learn from successful scientists and physicians from within Mount Sinai. Sessions are usually offered in person and virtually.
Story Telling Events
Story-sharing events foster an appreciation of diverse paths in medicine and science and provide a unique opportunity for gathering and connecting with each other. In June 2026, we held our inaugural Story Telling Event, cosponsored with the Nocturnists, highlighting 6 stories from Mount Sinai faculty and residents.
Building Equity Together Initiative
Since 2022, the Building Equity Together Initiative has included a series of facilitated dialogues that bring members of the school community together to explore novel ways for enhancing belonging, creating positive change, and supporting advancement. The conversations paved the way for community-led action teams working on three powerful goals:
- Amplifying caregiving and family-friendly benefits
- Normalizing the use of such benefits
- Implementing a systemwide dashboard that includes representation, recruitment, and promotion metrics
