In 2000, the Samuel Bronfman Department of Medicine pioneered a hospitalist program, and just four years later, a hospitalist division is established at each of the campuses, including Mount Sinai Beth Israel, and Mount Sinai Morningside and Mount Sinai West.
Mount Sinai Department of Medicine creates a hospitalist program.
A formal Division of Hospital Medicine is created covering both Manhattan and Mount Sinai Queens with 23 hospitalists on staff.
2010 – A hospitalist fellowship program is announced.
The Department of Medicine announces that Andrew Dunn, MD, FACP, SFHM, who has led the Hospitalist Division as the acting chief for the last two years, has officially become its first ever Division Chief.
Hospitalist divisions established at Mount Sinai Beth Israel and Mount Sinai St. Luke’s and Mount Sinai Roosevelt.
