Message From the Chief

The Division of Hospital Medicine at the Icahn School of Medicine at Mount Sinai is a dynamic team committed to transforming patient care, advancing medical education, leading cutting-edge clinical research, and fostering a supportive environment for our faculty to thrive. Our vision is rooted in our dedication to faculty development and support, which is the foundation upon which we build our success. As leaders in the field, we pride ourselves on pioneering unique and impactful programs that set us apart. Our Hospital at Home program exemplifies our commitment to patient-centered care, enabling us to provide hospital-level care in the comfort of our patients' homes. Through Mount Sinai International, we extend our expertise globally, with division leaders spearheading the charge in consulting engagements that showcase our innovative approaches to health care delivery.

We are equally passionate about nurturing the next generation of health care leaders. Our Student High Value Care program immerses medical students in longitudinal quality improvement projects, instilling a focus on reducing waste and enhancing care quality from the earliest stages of their careers. The Health Care Leadership Track prepares our house staff to become the trailblazers of tomorrow, while our Career Hospitalist Advisement and Mentorship Program offers unparalleled support for those pursuing a career in hospital medicine.

At the heart of our success lies our unwavering commitment to creating a diverse, inclusive, and academically rigorous environment where every faculty member can flourish. We foster a culture of collaboration, continuous learning, and community engagement, recognizing that our strength lies in the collective talents and perspectives of our team.

As we look to the future, our vision is bold and ambitious. Over the next decade, we aim to expand our innovative care models, strengthen our educational programs, and deepen our impact both within Mount Sinai and beyond. We will continue to harness cutting-edge technologies, such as artificial intelligence tools in our Central Hospitalist model, to enhance our reach and effectiveness. Through our scholarship and dissemination efforts, we will ensure that the discoveries made within the Division of Hospital Medicine will benefit patients and health care systems worldwide.
