Academic Support

As a Biomedical Informatics student at the Icahn School of Medicine at Mount Sinai, you’ll receive a number of academic support services.

Enrollment Services

The Enrollment Services office coordinates admissions, financial aid, and registration programs, among others.

If applying to our program, you will apply using the School’s online application. Admissions operations staff members can assist you via phone and email, should you need help.

Once admitted, any student who is interested in applying for financial aid will be directed to the School's Director of Financial Aid. Financial Aid information is available on our website, but one-on-one consultations can be scheduled with our Director of Financial Aid in person or via phone. Any student, irrespective of their degree program, who seeks federal loans or other entitlement programs, will be required to complete the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) as well as ISMMS’s own financial aid forms.

Tuition and Registration

Tuition payments must be made to the Bursar's Office within 30 days of invoicing. For those students who wish to remit payment to the institution, Icahn school of Medicine at Mount Sinai has contracted with Tuition Management Systems (TMS) to offer a monthly installment plan.

All students register for courses using the School’s online registration system. Periodic email updates notify students of upcoming registrations date windows. In addition to managing student data, course offerings, and registrations, the Registrar's Office is available to students for degree verification, degree audit, document request, and institutional administrative forms.

Disability Services

For those students with documented learning differences, the School has a disability officer who coordinates reasonable accommodations. Students who are seeking accommodations and services are required to submit documentation of their disability. The disability officer, in conjunction with an advisory group from the Medical School and Graduate School, has responsibility for determining the acceptability of documentation and reserves the right to require additional information. Students are asked to register by submitting an Application for Accommodations and Services along with disability documentation.

Post-Acceptance Services and Information

If accepted, as part of our pre-orientation process you’ll be granted access to a private enrollment website that provides details of all of our student services, information on important deadlines, and other helpful program specific information.

We also have a student handbook available, which includes our program policies as well as information for students.

You will also receive account access to a variety of digital resources including student services and course content.
