Jack and Lucy Clark Department of Pediatrics

The mission of the Jack and Lucy Clark Department of Pediatrics is to provide exceptional, compassionate clinical care and community service. Established in 1878, today the Department is situated within the Icahn School of Medicine at Mount Sinai. With an emphasis on diversity and inclusion, we contribute to groundbreaking scientific research and educate the next generation of academic leaders in pediatrics.

Our faculty translate collective intellectual curiosity, clinical expertise, and our commitment to social justice into innovative education for our residents and fellows. With curricula spanning bench to bedside and public health to policy, we are proud to offer exceptional education in every facet of pediatrics.

Our main teaching hospital, the Mount Sinai Kravis Children’s Hospital, is located in New York City on the border of the Upper East Side and East Harlem. Certified by the National Association of Children's Hospitals and Related Institutions, we offer full-spectrum primary care and subspecialty clinical services, while also engaging in breakthrough research. As an integral part of the broader Mount Sinai Health System, we are also uniquely positioned to offer trainees collaborative opportunities—our residents and fellows regularly partner with other departments to enrich their educational experience.

The Department encompasses 16 divisions and is led by a senior leadership team. Each division maintains its own research and clinical focus, while supporting the Department’s vision of moving the field of pediatrics forward.
