Message From the Director

As the first program of its kind in the Northeast approved by the Accreditation Council for Graduate Medical Education and one of the largest in the United States, the Transplant Hepatology Fellowship at The Mount Sinai Hospital offers an outstanding learning environment for tomorrow's leaders in academic hepatology.

Our one-year program, designed for physicians who have completed gastroenterology fellowship training, provides comprehensive clinical experience across all aspects of liver disease management and transplantation. Our fellows benefit from the unparalleled learning environment at the Recanati/Miller Transplantation Institute, where over 160 liver transplants are performed annually, including living donation procedures and multi-visceral transplantation.

Our faculty are committed to the personal and scholarly advancement of our fellows. As a participant in the program, you are welcomed as a colleague into a multidisciplinary team with the primary objective of providing the best care possible for all patients. This hands-on experience is complemented by a dynamic conference schedule and didactic curriculum, ensuring you develop the clinical expertise needed to independently manage complex cases. Our program also allows for protected research time and supports opportunities for you to share your results at national meetings and within major publications.

The Transplant Hepatology Fellowship at The Mount Sinai Hospital is where excellence in patient care, education, and research converge to create the future leaders of our field. We work tirelessly to support you during your training and to ensure you establish a successful career afterwards.

We welcome you to apply.
