Curriculum

The Master of Science in Clinical Research curriculum includes coursework emphasizing biostatistics and analytical acumen, research study design, clinical epidemiology, bioethics, interdisciplinary collaboration, scientific writing including grant writing, oral presentation, and professional development. The program is designed with the needs of working professionals in mind, and we encourage our students to make every effort to align their studies and future career goals.

Students can expect a variety of engaging, challenging courses that prepare them to conduct impactful clinical and translational research. Our curriculum is aligned with core competencies originally developed by the NIH-funded K30 Curriculum Award for Principal Investigators. These 14 core competencies include:

*Students must select at least one of the following three elective courses: Tools in Qualitative Research in Clinical and Translational Science, Meta-Analysis and Systematic Reviews for Clinical Research, or Introduction to Health Survey Research Methods. Students on F-1 visas required to be enrolled full-time may take an elective in Year 1.
