The Office of Postdoc Affairs is dedicated to supporting and enhancing the experience of postdoctoral fellows at our institution. We provide resources, professional development opportunities, and a collaborative community designed to empower postdocs in their research and career pursuits.

Housing is guaranteed to all incoming postdocs for a total of three years. For all housing-related questions, contact the Real Estate Division at 212-659-9630 or housing@mountsinai.org.

All new postdocs will be automatically added to the Office’s listserv within a few weeks of their arrival at the Icahn School of Medicine at Mount Sinai. If you started your fellowship more than a few weeks ago and you are not yet receiving weekly emails from our office, please email opa@mssm.edu and we will add you to the listserv.

The Office of Postdoctoral Affairs hosts a bi-monthly orientation session for all new postdocs. You will receive a calendar invite a few weeks ahead of the orientation date. If, for any reason, you cannot attend, you will have the opportunity to attend the following session. We also encourage all new postdocs to browse the Postdoc Portal and the Postdoc Policies and Procedures.

Please make sure to attend the New Beginnings Orientation on your first day. This session is separate from the bi-monthly Orientation hosted by our office. The sessions go into more detail about the benefits available and your enrollment options. To learn more, you may join the Live Virtual Benefits Orientation facilitated by the Mount Sinai Health System Benefits Department. The orientation runs weekly. For additional benefits information, you can find detailed plan summaries on the Human Resources Intranet site. Please note you must be logged into the Mount Sinai Health System network to access the Intranet.

Our office is not able to assist with tax-related questions. However, we do provide a code to use SprinTax Software to assist with tax preparation. SprinTax provides live chat agents to assist with questions as well as monthly informational seminars.
