Message From the Director

As children with congenital and acquired heart disease continue to live longer and thrive with their conditions, the field of pediatric cardiology poses exciting challenges to the next generation of physicians. At the Icahn School of Medicine at Mount Sinai, pediatric cardiology fellows will be on the cutting edge of this constantly evolving field, guided by our incredibly talented and experienced faculty. These faculty members are more than renowned surgeons and researchers—they are passionate teachers and mentors. Because of the hands-on career guidance and training our fellows receive, 60 percent of our fellows have gone on to do fourth-year fellowships in subspecialty areas of pediatric cardiology in the past four years.

The Pediatric Cardiology Fellowship at The Mount Sinai Hospital offers a unique opportunity to gain experience in both pediatric and adult cardiology, allowing fellows to witness the continuum of care for patients. Our fellows treat a diverse patient population from New York City, the tri-state region, and beyond. This exposure to various patient backgrounds enables our fellows to analyze patient outcomes against external factors such as socioeconomic status and genetics, which are known to influence heart conditions in children.

We are committed to preparing our fellows to become leaders in the field of pediatric cardiology. With access to state-of-the-art facilities, research opportunities, and a supportive learning environment, we can help you achieve your career goals while making a meaningful difference in the lives of children with heart conditions.
