Message from Chiefs

We are the 2022-2023 Chief Residents: Chandni, Becca, and Carley. We are glad you are interested in our program. Mount Sinai has a unique program with so much to offer you for your years in Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation Residency Program (PM&R) training.

We are the only categorical program in New York City. We are located in one of the nation’s most diverse cities, and an area with a large concentration of physiatrists. Our didactics include speakers from multiple departments throughout Mount Sinai, and we are able to invite renowned speakers from all over. We have great camaraderie with everyone in our department and with people in other New York City programs. Our schedules are structured to promote positive work-life balance—there is nothing better than exploring New York City on your downtime. Residents frequently enjoy activities including broadways, food tours, Central Park, and museums to name a few!

If you come to Mount Sinai, you will experience nearly everything. All residents graduate the program prepared to be an attending. During your time here you are likely to see many things that you thought you might only read about in board review books.

The Icahn School of Medicine at Mount Sinai PM&R Residency builds strong, knowledgeable, and compassionate physiatrists. At graduation, you will be confident in everything you do and will have made life-long friendships with your co-residents and attendings.

Please visit our website to learn more about the program. If you would like to speak with us, our emails are in the current resident page. We look forward to meeting you.

Sincerely,
Chandni Patel DO, Rebecca Freedman DO, and Carley Trentman MD
