The Mount Sinai Institute for Systems Biomedicine (MSISB) is developing new transdisciplinary approaches for basic and translational research that is facilitating precision medicine. MSISB uses convergent approaches to integrate cell biology and human physiology with pathophysiology and big data in health record databases.

Integrating cell biology, human physiology, and pathophysiology with big data, the Institute is changing the dynamics of health record databases. Our researchers use machine learning techniques and computational modeling, including graph theory and differential equation-based dynamical models experiments in induced pluripotent stem-cell-derived cells from various tissues and in animal models, and mechanism based clinical trials.
