Master of Science in Biostatistics

The Master of Science in Biostatistics Program at the Graduate School of Biomedical Sciences at the Icahn School of Medicine at Mount Sinai harnesses your talents in mathematics, statistics, and computing, and trains you to apply them to address challenging problems in health care. A traditionally critical role in health care, applied statisticians and data scientists provide novel methodologic solutions to clinical and translational research questions and contribute to improving the health care and well-being of populations across the world. We prepare our students to apply their degree in a vast array of career opportunities, including academia, industry, government, and public health. Our Program is also an ideal stepping-stone toward a doctoral degree in Biostatistics, Data Science or Epidemiology.

The Master of Science in Biostatistics offers two program tracks: Theory and Methods or Clinical Applications, to personalize your experience and choose the specialty that best aligns with your education or career goals. In addition to the compelling coursework in your chosen track, you will complete a year-long capstone project that engages real-world applications of clinical and biomedical data. Within a pioneering graduate and medical school and health system, we provide you with a stimulating and collaborative environment where you can make critical connections between science, biostatistics, medicine, education, and health care delivery.
