1. Department of Psychiatry

Patient Care

The Department of Psychiatry provides a full spectrum of evidence-based, pioneering patient services for children, adolescents, and adults. This critical work is carried out through our innovative clinical programs, centers, and institutes, which are expertly equipped to train the next generation of psychiatric clinicians and researchers in a broad range of mental health conditions.

Our patient services include diagnosis and treatment for autism, substance use, schizophrenia, mood and anxiety disorders, treatment-resistant depression, and many others. Across our four Manhattan campuses our faculty treats nearly 200,000 outpatients and 6,000 inpatients annually. The Department also oversees more than 200 inpatient psych beds and an additional 70 beds for the treatment of addiction.
