The Department of Medicine is dedicated to the comprehensive training of our physicians from undergraduate course work, through residency and fellowship, to continuing medical education for the seasoned physician. Our highly competitive Internal Medicine residency program at The Mount Sinai Hospital at the Icahn School of Medicine was ranked in the top 25 of all medicine residency programs in a nationwide survey of Department Chairs and Program Directors. As a result of our merger with Mount Sinai Beth Israel, New York Eye and Ear Infirmary, Mount Sinai West and Mount Sinai Morningside Hospitals, our training programs now meet the interests of every type of doctor, from those who want to focus on purely clinical, community-based medicine to a mix of research and clinical work at a tertiary-referral academic medical center.
Now more than ever, Mount Sinai is the future of medicine and education. The considerable depth of experience, talent and dedication our faculty brings from all over the city is crucial in developing and running a wide-variety of services to meet our missions of excellence in education, research and in caring for our patients. If you want to become a physician/scientist at the forefront of medicine in the twenty-first century – there is nowhere else to be but Mount Sinai.
