Student Life

At the Icahn School of Medicine at Mount Sinai, our medical students enrich their educational experience through several training, service, and outreach programs. They also serve the surrounding community through targeted clinical, educational, and research efforts, making a lasting impact on many lives. Our student organizations offer additional opportunities to connect with peers, build leadership skills, and shape the future of research and medicine.

Student Organizations and Leadership

Our vibrant community of student organizations is the perfect place to build connections, make a positive impact, and collaborate with future colleagues. From cultural affinity groups to advocacy, we encourage anyone interested in engaging in student life to fully explore everything we have to offer.

The School’s affinity groups are dedicated communities of peers who share a common purpose, self-identifying attribute, commitment, or belief. These groups provide a safe space for students to discuss important issues and strengthen their sense of belonging within the larger Mount Sinai community.

We are also one of the few medical schools that gives students the opportunity to interact with leadership at all levels. Any student may bring their concerns and suggestions to meetings with institutional leaders, learn firsthand about our vision and mission, and participate actively in helping us achieve that mission.
